Before you ring about a fault
- Check whether the neighbours are off too — if the street is dark it is a network fault, not yours.
- Note which breaker tripped and what was switched on at the time. It is half the diagnosis.
- Do not keep resetting a device that keeps tripping — it is telling you something.
- For a certificate, have the property address, postcode and any previous report to hand.
